Bird watchers slammed in Denver protest

Colorado may be a bird watchers' paradise with 439 species seen in the state but one protester at the Democratic Convention in Denver is less impressed with the hobby followed by millions.

Aneida Krok is demonstrating on the 16th Street Mall calling for a ban on what she calls "sexual voyeurism"! Her leaflet says: "Adults, disguised as birdwatchers, mask their debauchery by taking trips in groups. They can then achieve climax - honestly, we are not making this up - in the safety of the woods."

She adds: "Particularly disturbing is the high number of senior citizens using binoculars to observe birds mating. These horny Peeping Toms satisfy their craving for sex by focusing their debasement on birds."

She concludes: "This perversion must be halted otherwise the entire moral fibre of our nation is going to hell."

With 15,000 representatives of the media in Denver for the Convention, as opposed to only 4,000 delegates, the press need the likes of Aneida Krok to bring an alternative view of national politics -  should we call it a birds' eye view - to the nation's attention.
