Democratic Convention boosts Denver economy

While it may have cost the Denver host committee $40million to stage the Democratic Party Convention, it's estimated the city's economy will be boosted by the visitors' spending during the 4-day meeting. It's forecast that about $160million will be spent as near 100,000 flock into the city.

While 50,000 are officially accredited Convention visitors, it's thought that twice that number are involved, putting great pressure on Denver's 42,000 hotel rooms. Some apartment owners are doing well with one-bedroom city center aapartments said to be going for up to $6,000 for the week!
